New Century Theatre opens its 27th season with an inspired comic romp that feels more timely now than when it was written. Froggy, a British military demolitions expert on loan to the US Army, brings his friend Charlie, a socially awkward and painfully shy civilian, to a remote fishing lodge in Georgia. In a well-meaning attempt to cheer up his friend to ease his fear of conversing with strangers, Froggy tells everyone that Charlie is a foreigner who doesn’t speak a word of English. This one simple premise has made THE FOREIGNER one of the sweetest and most celebrated comedies of all time. The New Yorker said, "I laughed start to finish at one comic surprise after another."
